FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Sixth-Annual Edina ‘Barnyard Boogie’ Scheduled for Sept. 21
Edina, Minn., Aug. 16, 2012 – The Edina Parks & Recreation Department is kicking off the fall season with
its annual “Barnyard Boogie” at Rosland Park, 4300 W. 66th St. This year’s event will be held 10 to 11:30 a.m.
Saturday, Sept. 21.
The event will feature a full-size petting zoo with a calf, goats, bunnies, ducks and more. Back by popular
demand are pony rides.
“Barnyard Boogie gives our Edina residents -- both children and adults -- a chance to see a part of life that
may be very foreign to them: farm life,” said Recreation Program Specialist Dawn Beitel. “By interacting with
the animals, riding on a pony, climbing on a pile of straw or creating a handmade craft, families will experience
the simple pleasures that a farm can provide.”
In addition to the main attraction, a kid-friendly DJ will be on site for dancing. A craft table and other activities
will also be set up.
Starbucks coffee, refreshments and snacks will also be available.
The Barnyard Boogie is for children 7 years of age and younger with adult supervision. The cost is $5 per
child. Kids under 2 are free.
