Edina Police Department hires new patrol officer
Edina, Minn., Oct. 29, 2013 – Chad Anderson was recently sworn in as the Edina Police Department’s
newest officer.
Anderson began work as a Police Officer Oct. 14. City Clerk Debra Mangen administered the oath to him
Oct. 15. Surrounded by family, his wife, Ann, pinned his badge, No. 109.
An Eden Prairie native, Anderson graduated from Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College in 2006 with a
degree in Law Enforcement. Anderson began his career in law enforcement working as a security officer at St.
Luke’s Hospital in Duluth, Minn.
“Officer Anderson has a proven track record of hard work and community service,” said Edina Police Chief
Jeff Long. “We’re happy to have him as our newest police officer.”
In 2008, Anderson was hired as a patrol officer for the Moorehead Police Department where he also served
on the SWAT team. While with the Moorehead PD, Anderson was the lead Emergency Vehicle Operations
and Control Instructor and twice named a DWI All-Star by the Minnesota Office of Traffic Safety.
“The Edina Police Department is a proactive department,” said Anderson. “I feel like my skills are going to be
a good match.”
