CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Hovland called the meeting to order at 5:30 pm.
ROLL CALL
Answering roll call were Members: Agnew, Jackson, Risser, Pierce and Mayor Hovland
Staff in attendance: Scott Neal, City Manager; Lisa Schaefer, Assistant City Manager; Perry Vetter, Parks &
Recreation Director; Gillian Straub, City Management Fellow; Todd Milburn, Chief of Police; Andrew Slama,
Fire Chief; Chad Millner, Engineering Director; Kelly Curtin, Human Resources Director; Jeff Matlock, I.T.
Specialist; and Noel Mills Ford, Deputy City Clerk.
MOTION TO CLOSE SESSION AS PERMITTED BY MINN. STAT. 13D.03 TO DISCUSS LABOR
NEGOTIATIONS STRATEGY
Motion made by Member Jackson, seconded by Member Pierce.
CLOSED SESSION TO DISCUSS LABOR RELATIONS STRATEGY
City Manager Neal introduced the topic of discussion. Assistant City Manager Schaefer and Human Resources
Director Curtin presented on labor relations strategy. Council asked questions and provided feedback.
MOTION TO MOVE BACK INTO OPEN SESSION
Motion made by Member Jackson, seconded by Member Agnew.
Human Resources Director Kelly Curtin and Fire Chief Andrew Slama left. Affordable Housing Development
Manager Stephanie Hawkinson, Community Development Director Cary Teague, Economic Development
Manager Bill Neuendorf, and Assistant Director – Recreation and Facilities Tracy Petersen entered.
MOTION TO CLOSE SESSION AS PERMITTED BY MINN. STAT. 13D.05 TO DISCUSS THE
SOUTHDALE LIBRARY SITE
Motion made by Member Pierce, seconded by Member Jackson.
CLOSED SESSION TO DISCUSS SOUTHDALE LIBRARY SITE UPDATE
City Manager Neal introduced the topic. Economic Development Manager Neuendorf, Affordable Housing
Development Manager Hawkinson, and Community Development Director Teague presented on the
Southdale Library site update. Council asked questions and provided feedback.
MOTION TO MOVE BACK INTO OPEN SESSION
Motion made by Member Jackson, seconded by Member Pierce.
ADJOURNMENT
Mayor Hovland adjourned the meeting at 6:51 pm.
