City of Edina Outdoor Rinks Set To Open Early
Edina, Minn., Dec. 11, 2013 – Edina’s 12 outdoor ice skating rinks will open early for the season on
Tuesday, Dec. 17, weather permitting.
The 12 rinks are at Arden, Cornelia School, Countryside, Creek Valley, Highlands, Lewis, Normandale,
Pamela, Strachauer, Todd, Walnut Ridge and Weber parks. All locations feature warming houses and rinks for
hockey and general skating.
Warming house hours are 4 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 8
p.m. Sunday. Holiday hours from Dec. 23 to Jan. 3 are noon to 9:30 p.m. weekdays, with the exception of
Dec. 24 and 31 when hours will be noon to 4 p.m. School holidays on Jan. 20 and 21 and Feb. 17 and 18 are
noon to 9:30 p.m.
Rinks are scheduled to remain open until end of the day Feb. 28, weather permitting.
Centennial Lakes Park also features a 10-acre lake for skating which opened Dec. 13.
