Applications being accepted for appointment to boards,
commissions
Edina, Minn., Dec. 20, 2013 – The Edina City Council is accepting applications for 2014 appointments to its
advisory boards and commissions.
Advisory boards and commissions with vacancies include the Arts & Culture Commission, one opening; Board
of Appeal & Equalization, two; Community Health Commission, three; Construction Board of Appeals, one;
Energy & Environment Commission, one; Heritage Preservation Board, one; Human Rights & Relations
Commission, four; Park Board, three; Planning Commission, one; and Transportation Commission, two. Most
volunteer positions are three-year terms, though there are a few partial terms to be filled.
Most advisory boards include student representatives. Student appointments are one-year terms. Applications
for student appointments will be accepted in the spring. Those terms will begin in the fall of 2014 after the start
of the 2014-2015 school year.

All of the appointments must be approved by the Edina City Council. The City Council intends to interview all
applicants. Interviews are scheduled for Feb. 6, 10 and 19. Appointments will be made in March.
