I’m very proud of our team.” In the nomination submitted by Golden Valley Police Chief Stacy Carlson, Communications Specialist Denise Beck and Norgren were specifically recognized for their exceptional service provided during the officer- involved shooting on Interstate Highway 394 last year. Communications Specialist Steve Marston and Martin were also acknowledged for their remarkable assistance after a shift change during the critical time. “With a call like this, you expect to walk into a chaotic scene,” said Martin, “but Denise and Julie were calm, and had everything under control. They did their jobs seamlessly.” This is the second consecutive year that Edina’s Communications Center has received this award.
