Centennial Lakes Park Hosts Annual Edina Farmers Market
Edina, Minn., June 7, 2012 – Centennial Lakes Park will host its annual Edina Farmers Market 3 to 7 p.m.
Thursdays beginning June 14 and continuing through Sept. 27, at 7499 France Ave. S.
More than 30 local vendors will set up along the walkways leading north and south from Hughes Pavilion and
will feature an assortment of products, including sweet corn, beans, potatoes, melons, strawberries, apples,
pears, peppers, fruit, salsas, jams, honey, beef, pork, lamb, poultry, eggs, jerky, cheeses, breads and
confections.
“We expect to have an abundance of fresh produce this year because of the early spring warmth,” said
Centennial Lakes Park Manager Tom Shirley. “It will be a great year for the Farmers Market. Among other
newcomers, we are especially excited about a new vendor with fresh coffee from a family-owned Guatemalan
plantation.”
The Farmers Market will be held rain or shine. Complimentary parking will be available in any of the
numerous parking lots adjacent to the park.
Centennial Lakes Park, a 24-acre park and recreational area, features more than 1.5 miles of paved pathways
around a 10-acre lake, as well as beautifully landscaped grounds, formal and informal seating areas, gardens,
swinging benches and fountains. Recreational opportunities include an 18-hole bent grass putting course,
championship croquet courts, lawn bowling areas, four-person paddleboats, the Edina Model Yacht Club and
winter ice skating.
