Two map options for each of Edina’s four quadrants have been developed by a volunteer-led committee. All map options are on the City’s website at www.EdinaMN.gov. The maps are also on display at City Hall. “Now, we need your feedback,” said Assistant City Manager Karen Kurt. “It’s really important to the committee to hear what residents are thinking so they can use that input as they work toward a final recommendation for neighborhood names and boundaries” The maps were unveiled at a July 11community meeting. Residents’ comments were taken at that meeting. For those who could not make the meeting, a discussion has been created on the City’s new civic engagement website, “Speak Up, Edina!” at www.SpeakUpEdina.org/discussions. “Residents can review the map options online and leave their comments whenever it fits their schedule” Kurt said. “In addition to sharing your own input, it is a great way to see what other residents are saying.” Residents can share their comments on the maps through the month of August. The last community meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12 at the Edina Senior Center to discuss the committee’s final map recommendations. When the Name Your Neighborhood project is completed, residents in each neighborhood will have the option to voluntarily create a City-recognized neighborhood association.
