FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Fifth-Annual Edina ‘Barnyard Boogie’ Scheduled for Sept. 15
Edina, Minn., Aug. 16, 2012 – The Edina Parks & Recreation Department wants to help your family kick off
the fall season with the annual “Barnyard Boogie” at Rosland Park, 4300 W. 66th St. This year’s event will be
held 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 15.
The highlight of the annual event is a full-size petting zoo featuring a calf, goats, bunnies, ducks and more. New
this year is the addition of pony rides.
“Most city kids have become so far removed from the roots of farming and raising animals,” said Kristin
Aarsvold, Recreation Supervisor. “It’s neat for parents to see the affection kids have for the animals.”
In addition to the main attraction, a kid-friendly DJ will be on site for dancing. A craft table and other activities
will also be set up.
Lemonade and snacks, including popcorn and animal crackers, will also be available.
The Barnyard Boogie is for children 7 years of age and younger with adult supervision. The cost is $4 per
child. One adult is free with a paying child and can supervise up to three children.
