FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Centennial Lakes Park to host annual Winter Ice Festival
Edina, Minn., Jan. 3, 2011 – On Sunday, Jan. 9, Centennial Lakes Park, 7499 France Ave. S., will
host its annual Winter Ice Festival. The 2011 event will include skating, horse-drawn trailer rides and
other winter activities.
As part of the day’s festivities, an ice carver will create a masterpiece for the crowds out of a frozen
block of water.
Guests are welcome to lace up their skates or push one of the park’s many Norwegian sleds on the
ice. Skate rental is $5 per pair; sleds and trainers may also be rented.
Two face painters will be on hand for children, and a horse-drawn carriage will be available for rides
around the park.
For those who want to seek refuge from the cold, the Hughes Pavilion will be open for guests to
lounge by fireplaces, sip hot chocolate and warm their hands and feet. In addition, guests will have
the opportunity to purchase popcorn and hotdogs at the festival.
Free parking is available on site and the park is handicapped-accessible. For more information on the
2011 Winter Ice Festival or ice skating at Centennial Lakes Park, call 952-833-9586 or visit
