EDINA FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION
Established in 1957, the Edina Football
Association (EFA) is a volunteer-driven
program that works to create a fun, fair
and safe environment where players can
learn the great game of football. The EFA
is open to Edina students in grades 2-8.
HORNET FLAG FOOTBALL:
2nd - 3rd grades
Each team will have a maximum of 14 players
with a balance of 2nd and 3rd graders. Player's
school, neighborhood and availability of volunteer
coaches will determine team placement. Hornet Flag
Football is played at the Braemar Baseball Fields on
Saturdays beginning late August through the end
of October.
HORNET TACKLE FOOTBALL:
4th, 5th and 6th grades
Fourth and fifth grade players are introduced to
tackle football via 9-man football played on an 80
yard field at Van Valkenburg Park. Sixth grade plays
11-man football on a 100 yard field. The EFA uses
an equi-draft to determine what players will be
on a particular team. This allows us to make sure
that each team is as equally balanced as possible.
Season runs from mid August through the end of
October.
EFA TRAVELING FOOTBALL:
7th and 8th grades
Southwest Metro League play includes games versus
teams from Chaska, Eden Prairie and Shakopee
along with Edina inter-league games. All Edina home
games will be played at Lewis Park. The EFA uses
an equi-draft to determine what players will be
on a particular team. This allows us to make sure
that each team is as equally balanced as possible.
Season runs from mid August through the end of
October.
EDINA FOOTBALL SKILLS CAMP:
4th -12th grades
Run by the Edina High School Varsity Football
coaches with assistance from EFA volunteers, this
camp is a great way to get ready for the season.
Camp runs Monday - Thursday during the last two
weeks of July at Kuhlman Stadium.
