EDINA PARK & RECREATION DEPARTMENT'S
2010 SPRING/SUMMER
ACTIVITIES DIRECTORY
To highlight all the unique recreational
activities and events that the City
of Edina has to offer, the Park and
Recreation Department will be releasing
this semi-annual publication. The
Activities Directory will be your source
for what's going on around town each
Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter.
This new Activities Directory will help
you navigate the vast recreational
offerings presented by the City of Edina.
With eight revenue facilities, thirteen
athletic associations, and countless
recreational programs, you'll be hard
pressed not to find an activity that
appeals to you and your family. Whether
your interests are in sports, history, art,
gardening, or music, the Edina Park and
Recreation Department has something
for adults and children alike.
In a citywide effort to "go green" we will
be making the new Activities Directory
available online, as well as printing a
limited number of copies available for
walk-in guests. We hope that you will
support our Earth-friendly efforts to go
paperless by visiting the City of Edina
website and downloading a copy of the
PDF to your desktop or handheld device.
We look forward to seeing you out and
about on the fields, courses, courts,
paths, and playgrounds of Edina!

CENTENNIAL LAKES PARK
At 7499 France Avenue South, Centennial Lakes Park
features more than twenty-four acres of recreation
space. During the summer months, visitors can rent
paddleboats, fish in the ponds, watch remote control
sailboat races, explore a maze, or try their luck on the
bent grass putting course or croquet and lawn bowling
courts. The park also hosts a variety of cultural perfor-
mances in a 1,000-seat lakeside amphitheater.
In the winter months, the park offers one of the Twin
Cities' finest outdoor skating venues. Visitors can skate
across ten acres of carefully maintained ice or take a
spin on a Norwegian ice sled. Afterwards, guests can
relax by one of the Centrum building's three fireplaces
while sipping a cup of hot chocolate from the conces-
sion stand. For the convenience of park visitors, Cen-
tennial Lakes rents figure and hockey skates for chil-
dren and adults.

a putter to negotiate these heavily undulated greens. This par
51 layout is 1662 feet in length and takes approximately an
hour and forty-five minutes to play. All ages and abilities are
welcome, however, due to the difficulty of the course, it is rec-
ommended that players be 8 years of age and older.
Fee: $8 per person for 18 holes
$5 per person for 9 holes (Only available Mon-Fri, excluding holidays)
CROQUET AND LAWN BOWLING
The park also features championship caliber croquet and
lawn bowling courts. These lush bent grass lawns are some
of the finest in the Midwest. Courts may be rented by the
hour, with all equipment and written instructions included
in the court fee. In addition, a variety of tournaments and
leagues are hosted throughout the summer.
Fee: $15 per court per hour
PADDLE BOATS
The park's lake consists of a large body of water in the north
end and the south end, connected by a channel that runs
under bridges, along the putting course and past the Cen-

a great way to see all of Centennial Lakes Park.
