TEAM PARTIES
Edinborough Park offers a great place for teams to either start off the sea-
son or celebrate a successful one! While teammates climb Adventure Peak
together, parents have a great place to visit. We offer the activities and
space to celebrate. You bring in the food and beverages and you are sure to
have a ball. Adventure Peak offers challenging climbs for youth ages 2 to 12. The
Great Hall is a great spot for basketball, scooters, running and jumping. Mondays
through Thursdays, the cost is just $70 for up to 10 children and only $7 per addi-
tional child. We also do birthday parties. For more information, contact Angie

BRAEMAR GOLF DOME
The Braemar Golf Dome practice facility is open 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily
from November through mid-April and is closed during the summer. Our
dome is the largest and longest-hitting in the Twin Cities area with 46 tee
areas on two levels.
Prices are $7.50 for buckets on weekdays and $10.50 per half-hour of
timed golf on weekends. Two golfers may share one tee.
Winter is the perfect time to work on your game, so take advantage of our
group and private lessons. The dome also features golf Kids Kamps over

invited! Our full-size petting zoo lets you get up-close to farm animals right here in

the proceeds supporting Edina Park &. Recreation. Adults must provide supervision.

cut 'n paste the characters to make an Adventure Story Book. Make a character
shadow puppet mask, too. Children participate without parents. The class is taught
by Gin Weidenfeller, who has extensive experience guiding children through
the creative process.

ICE RINK ATTENDANTS WANTED
The winter ice rink season is fast approaching and the Park &
Recreation Department will accept applications for ice rink atten-
dants beginning Oct. 1. You can download a part-time job application
from www.CityofEdina.com/jobs or stop in at City Hall to pick up
your copy. You must be 16 years of age or older to apply. Questions?

SCHOOL'S OUTI MILEY'S HOEDOWN THROWDOWN
Let's add some neon-fun to the throwdown! Participants will receive a "hoedown"
makeover and learn to throwdown dance at this Miley party. Your trendy hair-do
includes a neon attachment. Nail polish will be neon polka dots! There will be more
make-over surprises and you'll make a jewel bandana craft to take home. Parents,

ADAPTIVE CHEERLEADING
Take your enthusiasm and energy and put it into this fun
new class for girls and boys with physical or cognitive dis-
abilities. Each week, we will work on motions, jumping and
dancing skills to build a routine. Using the combined abilities of our class,
we will learn a team cheer routine, as well as cheers to be used individually.
Taught by experienced coaches from the Northern Elite All-Star Team.

HOLIDAY TRAIN ADVENTURE — PARENT-AND-CHILD FUN
Take an imaginary ride with Thomas the Train and his holiday adventure ... and ride
the Polar Express to the North Pole. Draw, paint and collage images to make a Train
Adventure Picture Book and a "magic bell" gift box. Parent/adult participates with
their child in this fun holiday class. The class is taught by Gin Weidenfeller, who has
extensive experience guiding children and parents through the creative process.

NEW YEAR'S EVE FAMILY CELEBRATION
Bring in 2010 as a family. Edinborough Park is once again offering a family-friendly
evening of food, dance and play games with KidzDance DJ Service. Play in Adventure
Peak and, of course, the countdown to bring in the New Year at the stroke of 8 p.m.
Yes, 8 p.m. This will give our little ones time to celebrate and go to bed on time after
a night of exciting play. This will also give parents an opportunity to bring in the New
Year together in peace and quiet.

THIRD-ANNUAL SWEETHEART DANCE

aged to attend as a couple. Don't forget your camera to cap-
ture the evening.

BRAEMAR ARENA
For hockey and figure skating enthusiasts, Braemar Arena features three
indoor regulation-size ice sheets. Braemar is available for group rental and
adult and youth hockey and figure skating programs. Group skating lessons
for ages four through adult and open skating sessions are also offered.
OPEN SKATING SEASON PASSES
Open skating season passes, valid September through mid-August, are
available for individuals or families. The arena also offers single-session
admission to residents and non-residents.
HOLIDAY CLOSINGS
There will be no open skating on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas
Day, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. Special event cancellations will

GROUP SKATING LESSONS
Braemar Arena offers four sessions of skating lessons for beginners through
advanced skaters, ages four through adult. The first session begins in September,
the second session begins in November, the third begins in February and the fourth
begins in early June. Exact registration and session dates and fees will be posted
online at www.Braemar-Arena.com. The United States Figure Skating (USFS) Basic
Skills Program is used to determine skating levels and instructors are profession-
ally accredited in both hockey and figure skating from the USFS & USA Hockey. All
schedules below are subject to change.

SENIOR CENTER
Come to the Edina Senior Center "Where the Good Times Begin!" The Edina
Senior Center is located at 5280 Grandview Square and is for any person
age 55 and over. Our membership has over 1,500 fun-loving, active people.
The Center features speakers, tours, card parties, luncheons, sports, health
screening and special events. Join the Center by calling 952-833-9570.
Annual dues are $17 per person and $27 for a couple. This entitles you to
the monthly newsletter and priority registration for trips and tours,

PUBLIC SAFETY TRAINING FACILITY
SATURDAY RANGE OPERATION
The South Metro Public Safety Training Facility's 12-bay police firing range is open
for public use on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon. Reservations are not required.

ADULT VOLLEYBALL
Bump, set, spike! The City of Edina Park and Recreation Department is forming
2009-10 adult volleyball leagues. Official games will be held Wednesday evenings
beginning Oct. 14. The leagues end play in early March. This season, there will be
a co rec "D-level" division. Playoffs will be a double-elimination tournament.
At least half of the players on a team must live or work in Edina. A team can
include up to two non-residents for an additional fee. Call the Park & Recreation
Department at 952-826-0367 or visit www.EdinaParks.com to obtain a packet.
Registration deadline is Sept. 25.
MEN'S BASKETBALL
The Edina Park & Recreation Department offers a Wednesday Night
B League and a Wednesday Night C League. Both Leagues will play

Night C League plays all of its games at South View Middle School in the City
