Edina Community Channel 16 nominated for three Emmy
Awards
Edina, Minn., Aug. 21, 2011 – Edina Community Channel 16 (EDINA 16) has been nominated for
three Emmys by the Upper Midwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and
Sciences.
The 2011 Emmy nominees were announced Saturday, Aug. 20. “Edina Girl,” two spots produced for
the Park & Recreation Department, was nominated in the “Community/Public Service (PSA)
Campaign” category. The monthly talk show “In Edina” was nominated in the “Interview/Discussion
– Program/Special/Series” category. Communications & Marketing Director Jennifer Bennerotte was
nominated in the “Writer – Short Form” category.
“It is a tremendous honor to be nominated for an Emmy, especially when categories no longer exist
for access producers,” Bennerotte said. “We are proud to consistently produce the quality of work
that not only catches the eye and interest of our residents and businesses, but professionals in the
industry.”
The City of Lakeville’s government access channel was nominated for two Emmys in children’s
programming categories. The City of Roseville was nominated for one Emmy.
Entries made to the Upper Midwest Chapter were judged by panels assembled by other National
Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Chapters. These judging panels are comprised of no fewer
than five judges with no more than three of the judges employed by the same station or company.
There may be one award, more than one award or no award given in each category.
The Emmy Awards will be presented Saturday, Sept. 24, at the Historic State Theater in downtown
Minneapolis.
