Home energy awareness class offered through Edina
Community Education Services
Edina, Minn., Sept. 14, 2011 -- Interested in lowering your utility bills? Reducing energy waste in
your home keeps your house healthy, your family comfortable and saves money, too! “From Outlets
to Ice Dams,” a class through Edina Community Education Services, will cover easy and practical ways
to make your home more energy efficient, from the best technology to the best habits.
Attendees to this class will receive a $20 discount on a visit from the Home Energy Squad, which
installs a range of high-quality, energy-saving materials.
Instructor Neely Crane-Smith is the Community Energy Coordinator at the Center for Energy and
Environment, a Minneapolis nonprofit which has worked to reduce energy use in all types of buildings
across Minnesota for the past 30 years. Crane-Smith is a certified residential energy auditor.
Classes will be offered Sept. 27, Oct. 8 and 27, and Nov. 14. The cost is $7 per person, or $12 per
pair.
