White begins work as School Resource Officer
Edina, Minn., Oct. 25, 2011 – Edina Police Officer Aaron White has begun his new role as School
Resource Officer for South View Middle School, Valley View Middle School and the six public
elementary schools in the community.
He will be responsible for criminal cases originating in the schools and serve as a resource to
teachers and staff.
“I really like the dynamics of working with people all the time,” said White. “Everything we do
involves people, whether it’s a positive or negative situation, or somewhere in between. It’s the
reason I love my job so much.”
White began his career in law enforcement in 2005, when he served as a police officer for Three
Rivers Park District. Prior to becoming an officer, White spent 12 years working as an engineer in
radio broadcasting and time volunteering for the Hennepin County Lake Patrol. He was hired by the
Edina Police Department as a patrol officer in 2006.
“His biggest asset is his ability to communicate and solve problems,” said Police Chief Jeff Long. “He
brings a lot of life experience with him to the job and can get along with anyone.”
White succeeds Dan Conboy in the position, who was promoted to Sergeant in late September.
