Glass exhibit to open at Edina Art Center
Edina, Minn., Jan. 14, 2009 – A “Foci Glass” exhibit will open March 4 at the Edina Art Center
with an artists’ reception open to the public from 5 to 8 p.m. that day. Various sculptural and hand-
blown glass art will be on display and available for sale.
The exhibit features the work of 12 artists: Michael D. Boyd, Todd Cameron, Craig Campbell, Steve
Claypatch, Liz Fink, Al Honn, Danielle Kieffer, Jalai Laiel, David Royce, Lucinda Silvas, Dan Sloper and

Boyd and his brother Scott Boyd began Foci Glass as a small business in Toledo, Ohio. In 2001,
Michael moved the business to Minneapolis and began to rent out studio time to local artists. Since
then, Foci has transformed into a non-profit organization committed to serving the community
through demonstrations, classes and exhibitions.
The show continues through March 24.
In conjunction with the exhibit, the Art Center will offer two glass art classes at the Foci Glass
studio in Minneapolis. “Hot Glass Social,” an introductory class into glass-blowing for ages 14 and
up, will be held 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 6. “Glass Sculpture” for youth in Grades 3-6 will be held 1
to 2 p.m. March 20.
The Edina Art Center, 4701 W. 64th St., provides the community with a place to enjoy art and a
chance to learn how to create it. The Art Center is open 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through
Thursday, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday, and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. For more information, call the
