Bird-inspired art exhibit to open at Edina Art Center
Edina, Minn., Feb. 9, 2010 – “The Bird Show – An Exhibition Celebrating Birds” will open April 1
at the Edina Art Center. An opening reception will be held that night from 5 to 8 p.m., providing the
public with an opportunity to meet the artists.
The exhibition will feature a variety of interpretations of the bird theme and a broad range of media.
The idea for the bird show was a collaborative effort between Gallery Coordinator Anne Spooner
and Art Center Director Diana Hedges. “Birds impact our human lives,” said Spooner, “through
their antics, their sounds and their colors.”
The exhibition will continue through April 29.
The Edina Art Center, 4701 W. 64th St., provides the community with a place to enjoy art and a
chance to learn how to create it. The Art Center is open 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through
Thursday, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday, and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. For more information, call the
