Most outdoor ice rinks close for the season
Centennial Lakes Park remains open to skaters
Edina, Minn., Feb. 18, 2010 – After a great season, 11 of the City of Edina’s 12 outdoor ice
skating rinks closed for the season Feb. 15. Lost-and-found items should be picked up before mid-
March.
The City maintains 12 outdoor ice skating rinks. Rinks are at Arden, Centennial Lakes, Cornelia
School, Creek Valley, Highlands, Lewis, Normandale, Pamela, Strachauer, Todd, Walnut Ridge and
Weber parks. Centennial Lakes Park is the only park where ice skating continues. The ice there will
continue to be groomed for ice skating, weather permitting, and the warming house will remain
open until the end of the winter season. Concessions stand and skate rental hours there are 4 to
9:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Saturdays and noon to 9:30 p.m. Sundays.
Although concessions and rentals do not open until 4 p.m. on weekdays, the skating rink opens at
noon to accommodate those with their own skates.
Articles in the Lost and Found at each neighborhood park's warming house were brought to City
Hall, 4801 W. 50th St. Articles not claimed at City Hall by March 16 will be donated to a charity.
