FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Dedication of Greer Garden to be held June 28
Edina, Minn., June 8, 2010 – A dedication of the Greer Garden at the Edina Art Center will be
held 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, June 28.
The reception will give the public an opportunity to view the first phase of the garden created in
honor of Edina Art Center’s founding co-director Pat Greer and her husband, Bill, also an active
resident in Edina.
“Bill and Pat both loved nature,” said Art Center Director Diana Hedges. “The garden is a perfect
dedication to honor their many years of service to the City of Edina.”
The completed portion of the Greer Garden includes a 300-square-foot deck, lattice work, walkway
and plentiful grasses and perennials landscaped by City Horticulturist Tim Zimmerman.
Phase II of the project – expected to be completed by fall 2010 – will bring an audio system, lighting
and rain barrels to the garden.
The garden was made possible by community donations and the Edina Housing Foundation for
which Bill served as Board president and Board member for many years.
The Edina Art Center, 4701 W. 64th St., provides the community with a place to enjoy art and a
chance to learn how to create it. The Art Center is open 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through
Thursday, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday, and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. For more information, call the
Edina Art Center at 952-903-5780 or visit www.EdinaArtCenter.com.
