FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Edina Aquatic Center opens for summer
Edina, Minn., June 15, 2010 – After its yearly rejuvenation, the Edina Aquatic Center opened for
the season June 12.
“We’re always striving to be safe, friendly and fun,” said Assistant Park & Recreation Director Ed
MacHolda. “We believe in refreshing and renewing the Aquatic Center. For the first person
through the gate each year, it looks like a brand new facility.”
Some updates to the facility included sandblasting and repainting the main pool, play structure in the
zero-depth pool and bath houses; purchasing 100 new lounge chairs; and replacing the sand in the
sand filtration system.
The Edina Aquatic Center’s main pool features a 215-foot twisting flume, a large area for lap
swimming and diving and a pirate ship-themed cable ride. The Center is also home to Oakwood
Forest, a dry play area, along with a popular children’s pool.
Daily admission to the pool is $10 per person or $8 after 5 p.m. (prices do not include tax). Season
membership passes are also available.
The Aquatic Center will remain open until Sunday, Aug 29.
The Edina Aquatic Center, 4300 W. 66th St., is open Monday through Friday, 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
and Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. For more information, call the Edina Aquatic Center
