Edina, Minn., Sept. 1, 2010 – Support your local Art Center and community healthcare
organization, as well as do some holiday shopping. Tickets are on sale now for “Taste of Creativity.”
The fundraiser will be held 4 to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 4 at the Art Center, 4701 W. 64th St. Taste of
Creativity will feature a silent auction, artists’ demonstrations, gift sales, hors d’oeuvres, and live
music. Proceeds will benefit the Edina Art Center, Fairview Auxiliary and Edina Public Art
Committee, a committee of the Art Center Board.
Since 1977, the Edina Art Center has been a place for residents and neighbors of all ages and
abilities to create and enjoy the visual arts. The Edina Art Center’s facilities, faculty, programs and
services support many two- and three-dimensional artistic pursuits, including painting, ceramics,
drawing and media arts. The facility hosts rotating exhibitions and programs of locally and
internationally known artists in the Margaret Foss Gallery. The Art Center also offers a unique
selection of artist-created gifts, including cards, jewelry, pottery and sculpture, as well as many art
supplies in the Clark Gift Shop.
The Art Center has made a commitment to arts in healthcare, positive distractions, and
transformative healing experiences though art enrichment outreach programs. As a member of the
Midwest Arts in Healthcare Network, the Art Center aims to bring art into the lives of metro area
residents and create a more cohesive community built on creativity, respect and a more holistic
view of the world.
The Fairview Auxiliary is dedicated to enhancing the lives of Fairview patients and their families and
the staff at Fairview in the communities in which they live since 1906. The Auxiliary’s mission
statement expressly reads, “Fairview Auxiliary commits its skills and resources to benefit the whole
person by providing exceptional health care while addressing the physical, emotional and spiritual
needs of patients and their families.” Today, Fairview Auxiliary funds student scholarships and
various projects throughout the Fairview system, including Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina.
Tickets are for sale at the Edina Art Center and online at www.EdinaArtCenter.com. For more
