Edina Police and Fire Departments collect toys for less
fortunate children
Edina, Minn., Dec. 2, 2010 –The Edina Police and Fire departments again seek donations of toys,
books, games and winter clothing for the Volunteers Enlisted to Assist People (VEAP) Holiday Gift Store.
The Edina Police Station, 4801 W. 50th St., and Fire Station No. 1, 6250 Tracy Ave., serve as collection
sites for residents interested in making donations to the program.
All donations should be new, unwrapped and valued between $10 and $20. VEAP is currently in need of
winter clothing such as hats, gloves, scarves and blankets for all ages; toys for toddlers; and games, books
or puzzles for children up to age 18. Gift cards from local retailers up to $15 are also in high demand.
Donations will be collected through Saturday, Dec. 18. The VEAP Holiday Store is designed to help
financially struggling parents in Richfield, Edina and Bloomington provide a stable and positive holiday
experience for their children.
