Individuals should not expect the Chair or Board/Commission Members to respond to their comments tonight. A.New Member Introductions III.Approval Of Meeting Agenda Motion by Philip King-Lowe to approve meeting agenda. Seconded by Andrew Hawkins. Motion Carried. IV.Approval Of Meeting Minutes A.February 8, 2021 Meeting Minutes Motion by Amanda Herr to approve February meeting minutes. Seconded by Greg Wright . Motion Carried. V.Community Comment VI.Reports/Recommendations A.Chair/Vice-Chair Election Motion by Michael Wood to elect Julia Selleys as Chair and Andrew Hawkins as Vice-Chair for 1 year term. Seconded by Greg Wright . Motion Carried. B.Committee Updates Social Connectedness Initiative: No update Multi-Unit Housing Smoke-Free Initiative: Recent meeting with Margaret Perez from Bloomington Public Health to discuss examples and possible resources. Have met with apartment complex owners and property managers to discuss ideas. Complicated issue without many similar initiatives in Minnesota. Opioid Initiative: No meeting, planning to schedule shortly. VII.Chair And Member Comments Member King-Lowe provided update on his recently launched podcast: 'Today's Autistic Moment'. ATTACHMENTS: Description Opioid Initiative Draft Report City of Edina Health Commission: Opioid Workgroup Information Update April12, 2021 The following report and city websites were reviewed by the City of Edina Health Commission Opioid Workgroup. This information is groundwork to developing recommendations for the City of Edina to consider to address opioids misuse and overdose death increase. The 2020 Hennepin County Opioid Response Strategic Framework was reviewed. https://www.hennepin.us/-/media/hennepinus/your-government/projects- initiatives/documents/opioid-response-strategic-framework-2020.pdf Deaths from opioids increased from 63 in 2007 to 129 in 2018. From this framework, a potential area for City of Edina to address opioids is through primary prevention to reduce opioid misuse and overdose that includes safer storage and disposal of medications. Key Resources information resources in this report include: • Hennepin County disposal methods • Law Enforcement actions • Prevention of Prescription Painkiller Abuse The workgroup reviewed the following cities websites for opioid ontent and found all had disposal information with different levels of detail. The City of Plymouth was a more robust website and included additional information linking to law enforcement and prevention of painkiller abuse. Cities websites reviewed were: Edina, Plymouth, Bloomington, Eden Prairie, Golden Valley, Minnetonka and Richfield.
