The Lincoln & Londonderry Small Area Plan Working Group will meet once or twice per month for 12 months to produce this plan. In addition, members will assist with workshops to share information and gather feedback from the Edina community. A consultant will assist in developing the final small area plan, which would be presented to the Planning Commission for review and recommendation. It would then go to the City Council for approval and needs to be approved by the Metropolitan Council before being adopted as an amendment to the City’s Comprehensive Plan. The working group is expected to first meet in late April. Planning Commissioners Ryan Daye, Meriwether Felt and Lou Miranda will serve as co-chairs of the working group. Ideally, other members will represent a variety of backgrounds and interests or different connections to the Lincoln-Londonderry area. The working group will engage neighborhood residents, businesses and others in the study area. The small area plan may provide guidance on such topics as land use, transportation, housing, economic development, sustainability, parks and natural resources. Small Area Plans previously were done for Wooddale-Valley View, 50th & France, 70th & Cahill and the greater Southdale district. Visit EdinaMN.gov/compplan and select “View by Chapter” to see those plans.
