EdinaParks.com 2024 SPRING/SUMMER 2 Welcome to the Parks & Recreation Activities Directory. This directory provides an overview of activities from approximately March through August. Full program information can be found online. We encourage everyone to sign up only for the classes or programs they intend to attend. If you’re planning to have your child attend the same session as their friends, please communicate in advance and know which ones to sign up for. This keeps slots open for everyone without needing a waitlist. For those who are waitlisted, we make every effort to get people into the class or program. If you’re new to Edina Parks & Recreation programs, please set up your free account in advance of registration at EdinaParks.com/Fun. Scholarships Connect Card Program • Pays for free access or reduced price on activities • Edina residents (any age) or those who attend school in Edina are eligible • Card holders are responsible for paying tax on any taxable items • Apply online or print application & mail; call 952-300-2378 for application (available in English, Somali or Spanish). • An annual credit can be added to your CivicRec account so you can register on your own; to add credit call the Parks & Recreation Office at 952-826-0367. Edina Give and Go Program • Provides grants for Edina Public Schools students to participate in academics, arts and sports • Apply by visiting EdinaGiveandGo.org; online application form available in multiple languages Inclusion The Parks & Recreation Department offers inclusive services for activities and events. Friday, April 12 6-7:30 p.m. Braemar Golf Course Clubhouse $50/couple Step To It Help Edina compete against other local communities in this free four-week event designed for everyone. There is potential to win prizes throughout the month. The challenge is May 1-28. Registration begins April 1 at steptoit.org. We will have a variety of free special activities, events and giveaways. Art on the Go Pop-Up Cart Art on the Go will pop up at Edinborough Park, Centennial Lakes Park and other Edina parks throughout the summer. Follow the Edina Art Center on Facebook or Instagram for dates and location announcements. These pop-up events will include free art projects for the whole family. Art Together Join Edina Police, Edina Fire and public safety partners for an art project, snacks and an afternoon of community fun! Acknowledging Earth Day and the oversized impact that textiles have on our planet, the City of Edina hosts a popular annual clothing swap at Braemar Backyard Rink. Clothing does not need to be brought to participate. This event is free, open to everyone! Pre-event donations can be dropped off 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, at the rink. Wear an item from last year’s swap and/or bring a friend who has never attended before! way golf is learned and played through its fun, team-oriented approach. Girls and boys of all skill levels learn and play the game with expert coaching and guidance from PGA Staff at Braemar Golf Course. Players will compete on teams with friends in a two-person scramble format that encourages mentorship and builds confidence. The Braemar PGA JR League players receive six one-hour team practices (dates and times TBD) and six regular matches held within the league. The program runs June 5 through July 29 with matches held on Saturday mornings. Coaches set their own practice schedules. Cost is $349 and you will register directly with the PGA at www.pgajrleague.com.
