Board Members Duties and Terms Board members attendance and duties were reviewed. A
new list of board members including their titles and end of term date will be typed
up for the next meeting. They would like this also to include staff members titles and
numbers and the gift shop manager.
As a result of going over the Art Center Guide Lines, Jim VanValkenburg will rework
them and have them ready for approval at the next meeting.
The Gift Shop The gift shop is completed and all agree it looks wonderfull. Mollie
Paulson already has started arranging it and will add a few special things for the
Holiday season.
Mollie told of the very successfull meeting and lunch she held last week with 10 of her
volunteers and the staff. She went over the accomplishments so far and talked of what
she would like to accomplish in the future. She talked of: trying to keep it open more
hours, including an evening, from now until Christmas, puting up posters in various
places, the need for a small desk or counter, and of possibly placing a classified add
in the Sun Newspaper. It was decided that she will work with Jean Adams and place an
ad possibly in the Boutique section. Mollie says sales are definitly picking up and
that she feels the shop has great potential.
Pat Greer asked about now putting some of the black and white prints of the woodblock
we gave to members in the gift shop. It was decided to do this, however, a price was
not settled on.
The dedication of the gift shop will be during Kay Sharkey Schlosser's opening on
Dec. 4th at 3:30. It was decided that a note card inviting people to the dedication
would be placed inside the invitation to the opening of Kay's show.
A motion was made to call the new gift shop the Clark Gallery Gift Shop and to place
a plaque there. The motion was seconded and carried.
Committee Reports Phyllis Haywa reported that the Jan. show will feature Jerry Amon's
amd Betty Anderson's watercolors.
Donna Skagerberg said don't send fund raising letters to organizations that are also
asking for money.
Sharon Hale passed out copies of the fund raising letter. She asked each to take at
least 25 and send them to friends who may contribute to the Center. A return envelope
should be enclosed.
Jim VanValkenburg said we should have a new entrance by the pool parking lot by June.
Carol Bermel asked about the scroll stating names of our contributors. She was told
that Mary Dvorak, staff member, is doing one in calligraphy.
THERE WILL BE NO DECEMBER MEETING. - In it's place, there will be a Christmas Party
at Carol Bermel's.
