November 19, 1992 Edina Art Center MEMBERS PRESENT: Dodie Paul, Don Peddie, Heather King, Liz Eisenbrey, Art Dickey, Peter R. Spokes, Sandra Clark, Susan Kelm and Dee Dege. MEMBERS ABSENT: Jim VanValkenburg, Merry Krueger STAFF PRESENT: Diana Hedges and Solvei Swenson Meeting called to order at 7:30 a.m. by acting chair, Peter R. Spokes. I. MINUTES Dodie Paul MOVED TO APPROVE THE MINUTES FROM OCTOBER 15, 1992 MEETING. Susan Kelm SECONDED. MOTION CARRIED. DIRECTOR'S REPORT A. Fireside Suppers The suppers were excellent. The hosts thought it was great. It boosted spirits and brought new people to the center.' The expense to the Art Center was $143 and the proceeds that came in totalled $3010. The date for next years supper will be Sunday, November 7, 1993. B. Holiday Show The Holiday show is going great. Sales are ahead of last year. C. Classes Enrollment is down 120 students. Peter R. Spokes asked if enrollment was down elsewhere. Ms. Hedges stated that Minnetonka states they are not down. D. Celebrate the Arts Working on mailing list. E. Gallery Report The Marquette Bank space is no longer available to display art work. It may not affect the art center, since sales have not been much. Dodie Paul suggested checking on Americana Bank's lobby. Ms. Hedges' stated that they are not seeking more gallery space at this time. Brad's hours have been increased by 5 hours/week since Molly's resignation. Priscilla Hill volunteered to help hang art work. F. Holiday Party Will be Friday, December 11 at 6:30p.m. at the Art Center. G. Other 1. No board meeting in December. 2. Members participation at board meetings will be attempted at the January meeting with members reports. 3. Merry Krueger resigned from the board. New members were suggested: Gene Anderson, Polly Wadsworth and Bill Greer. 4. The Art Center's refrigerator quit working. Seeking a donated used one. 5. Winter art class schedules will be out January 4th, 1992. Meeting adjourned 8:00 a.m.
