The first project using the camera is to capture digital images of instructors and
artists which can be viewed on the EAC Internet pages. Sandy Clark endorsed the
many possible uses for digital cameras citing the new Sony Mavica camera she
recently obtained.
H. Ms. Hedges reported that the Tea Room has become just the sort of
comfortable environment hoped for when it was first talked about. Students and
visitors are enjoying the library and the views. It is a great meeting place for
smaller groups.
I. The Edina Foundation's annual fundraising event will be "April In Paris" to be
held April 17 at Edinborough Park. The Art Center will help with decorating the
window wall in a Paris cityscape-skyline motif. Volunteers will be welcomed for
this project. An organizing meeting will be held on March 3rd at 1 p.m.
J. Several valuable prints by artists, Steven Sorman and Steve Hartman, may be
donated to EAC. The prints could be available for auction at "April In Paris"
with the proceeds dedicated to the Art Center. Miss Hedges will follow up on this
opportunity.
K. Ms. Hedges is doing a special class for residents at Westridge Retirement
Community.
L. The Crosstown Camera Club held a meeting in the new downstairs classroom.
48 people attended.
M. Other opportunities for volunteers abound. They range from teaching
assistant in children's classes, helping Harriet Bach organize the library, assisting
with artists' demonstration videos, writing publicity articles, to general office
work anytime day or evening.
