Spokes, Heather Randall King, Sandy Clark, Liz Eisenbrey, Dodie Paul, Dee Dege, Gene Andersen, Art Dickey MEMBERS ABSENT: Susan Kelm, Jim VanValkenburg STAFF PRESENT; Diana Hedges, John Keprios, Mary Dvorak Meeting called to order by Peter R. Spokes at 4:30 P.M. I. APPROVAL OF JANUARY MINUTES Dee Dege moved to approve the minutes from the JANUARY 20, 1994 MEETING. Liz Eisenbrey seconded. MOTION CARRIED. Later on, it was moved to OMIT KIT AND SUE AAROM's NAMES FROM BOARD MEMBERS SUGGESTED. II. FUNDRAISING "CELEBRATE THE ARTS, COUNTRY STYLE" See report. Diana Hedges stated there have been many compliments on the invitations. All of the invitations were mailed on Friday, Feb. 4 or Monday, Feb. 7. Gene Andersen reported that Tobie Dicker and Tom Nelson are donating pieces to the Live Auction along with Sharon Hale's Day at the Stables. Additional solicitation names should be given to Gene and Diana so as not to overlap into the Silent Auction in May. Heather Randall King discussed the luncheon meeting she and Diana Hedges had with Katy Koch, Edina Sun editor. Katy Koch is very impressed with EAC programs and volunteer efforts. She would like photographs and is very enthusiastic and willing to work with EAC in the future. Polly Norman has a picture of Pat and Greg Bruns and Linda and Dennis Maetzold for publication on February 23. Ms. Hedges reported donations of $350 to date. Bar and food are arranged. Board members volunteering time for set-up Friday March 11 at Braemar: Dodie Paul will do name tags Set-up committee additions: Gene Andersen, Sandy Clark, Dee Dege, Peter Spokes, Art Dickey III. ALL VOLUNTEER AWARDS RECEPTION APRIL 20 After discussion Art Dickey was selected as City volunteer and Elizabeth Kane as Art Center nominee for awards this year. Date of EAC luncheon should be set for April ??? IV. CROSSTOWN CAMERA CLUB--ART DICKEY Monthly meetings have been set up. On February 10 CCC had its first competition. John Hill had three prints that rated a #10 for the salon. The dark room is progressing. St. Cloud State does not have all equipment originally promised. Bob Kojetin will build the darkroom for us. Dues are due April 1 at $10 a year. There are 40 on the mailing list. Next meeting is March 10 at Arneson Acres Park at 6:30 P.M. with a portrait photography workshop. Heather Randall King suggested that a flyer about CCC be available at the benefit on March 12 for people to pick up. V. OTHER A. See report. B. We need to sell 150 tickets for the March 12 event--we have extra invitations available. C. Dee Dege will be the Board representative Tour Guide for the League of Women Voters open house Saturday, February 26 at City Hall. D. Discussion of Board Meeting time change to meet earlier. Liz Eisenbrey MOVED TO CHANGE THE ART CENTER BOARD MEETING TIME FROM 4:30 P.M. TO 4:00 P.M. Dee Dege seconded. MOTION CARRIED. The MARCH 17 MEETING will be held at 4:00 P.M. Meeting adjourned at 5:30 P.M. Next meeting March 17, 1994 at 4:00pm.
