EDINA PUBLIC ART COMMITTEE — Linda Kieffer
Laura Frykrnan has some work showing at City Hall. Pat Duncan will be showing next at Jerry's Café.
Denise Bunkert'will follow. Diana asked Brad if he had any fish to hang until Pat is ready so the place
wouldn't be empty. The Utility check off will be on the July bill. Grandview Square sculpture will be
going in on June 26th. Nick Legeros' Leaf Stack has been in for a couple of months. This will start the
annual rotating exhibits. Glass for the City Hall project is on order. When it arrives, we can have a field
trip. Diana mentioned visiting the Rochester Art Center where they have a large art glass work with a book
alongside that shows the work in process.
DIRECTOR'S REPORT —
MASSIMO.
Diana showed the. invitation for the Italian mask maker's presentation here on August 1 and at Circus Juventas.
CARNEVALLE •
Diana thanked Mike Kelly for attending the meeting June 8 where they decided to have a tent for the event. Liz
Kohane is checking on that. Ken indicated that Fall into the Arts may buy a tent and if so we could use it. The
treats will be 'srriall pizza squares, lemonade and popcorn. Heather said don't advertise that there are refreshments.
Monica is working on a Gelato activity where kids will make their own. Ken said he should have the Philippine
taxi ready and that he would check on getting a golf cart that could be made gondola-like so we could advertise that
parking would be available at the pool lot with shuttles..
4th of JULY PARADE
We need participants. We will march with umbrellas, but last year's contingent was embarrassingly small.
Marchers will get a free T-shirt. Attend the Open House, too, from 6:30 until after the fireworks.
EDINA ART FAIR
Diana thanked Bradley for pulling the fundraiser together and helping to make it a success. We raised $4775 from
selling pottery dept. pots and $445 in gift shop sales. George commented that we could have used medium bags.
We used large donated grocery bags from Lund's and lunch bags to keep costs down. Could ask for medium plastic
bags too next year. The space worked wonderfully for traffic and the weather couldn't have been better.
GALLERY •
Bradley mentioned that there will be two opening receptions in July. The 6th from 5-8 for a weekend show of
jewelry witli Kim Swiler with a focus on New Orleans and the 13th from 5-8 starting a summer show of
Colleagues of Calligraphy. Heather noted that Dee had to leave for some family problems. Heather assigned
homework to update and add to our mailing list for the Juried Show solicitation.
ADJOURNMENT -The meeting was adjourned at 4:58 pm.
