Alex Van Galder and Isaac Kerry joined the Edina Fire team. Van Galder has a bachelor’s degree in Biokinetics from Bethel University. Previously, he worked for the St. Anthony Fire Department. In 2017, he started as a Paramedic with Hennepin EMS. In 2018, he took a full-time position with St. Anthony Fire and continued working part-time for Hennepin EMS. In 2023, St. Anthony Fire began providing Advanced Life Support (ALS) services and Van Galder was promoted to Captain. Prior to joining Edina Fire, Kerry worked as a Paramedic for Hennepin Healthcare since 2023 and has been a Firefighter with Eden Prairie Fire Department since 2020. Kerry has a bachelor’s degree in political science/history from the University of Minnesota – Morris, and master’s degree in urban studies/sustainability from Minnesota State University – Mankato. “Issac and Alex come to us with some great experience. Now that they’re done with our training academy, we are excited for them to jump right into the job,” said Operations Fire Chief Pete Fisher.
