Walk With the Mayor to Be Held June 12
Edina, Minn., May 1, 2024 – This month’s Walk with the Mayor will take place 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 12, at Bredesen Park, 5901 Olinger Blvd.
The walk will begin by the main parking lot adjacent to the walking path and Mayor Jim Hovland reminds participants to be ready to enjoy the summer heat and bring sun protection and
stay hydrated.
This event provides an opportunity for community members to come together and see the improvements taking place around the city’s public parks and to converse and exchange ideas on what’s
to come.
“I have had several comments from residents about the extent of invasive species work at Bredesen, so I am eager to see the results of the work performed.,” Hovland said. “I am also
eager to see plans for planting of native species and possibly be able to view some of those plantings, if that work has commenced. Please think about joining me on the 12th of June
for the walk.”
No prior registration is required to attend the Walk with the Mayor; simply show up at the designated meeting time to walk and talk with Hovland. Remember to dress for the weather that
evening. If the forecast shows rain, the walk will be moved to the Galleria and will begin at the lobby between Cov and Starbucks.
