Public Works Open House Set for May 23
Edina, Minn., May 3. 2024 – Edina’s Public Works Department will host its “Big Trucks” Open House 4-7 p.m. Thursday, May 23, at the Public Works & Park Maintenance Facility, 7450 Metro
Blvd.
This free event is held once every two years in May as part of National Public Works Week. Across North America, municipalities in the United States and Canada use the week to energize
and educate the public on the importance of public works in their daily lives: planning, building, managing and operating at the heart of their local communities to improve everyday
quality of life.
At this year’s Open House, there will be something for everyone to enjoy, including information booths, a scavenger hunt for children, free refreshments, photo opportunities and plenty
of heavy-duty equipment on display.
“The Open House event is a great opportunity for residents and kids to get up close and learn about the people, equipment and public infrastructure services that make our city go,” said
Assistant Public Works Director Dave Goergen.
Rain or shine, this event will keep on rolling. No registration is required for attendance, although responding to the Facebook event can help the Public Works Depratment with planning.
