Edina Police Department to Host Open House Thursday, Sept. 26
Edina, Minn., Aug. 23, 2024 – Residents of all ages are invited to the Edina Police Department’s Open House 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, at Edina City Hall, 4801 W. 50th St.
The event is free to attend. Visitors will have the opportunity to participate in the Ninja Anywhere obstacle course, Police Department tours (Spanish and Somali interpreters will be
available), Edina Art Center station, free barber haircuts, Office of Traffic Safety’s seat belt convincer and boxing demonstrations by Circle of Discipline. Free hot dogs and chips
will be available. A dessert food truck will be there for guests to purchase treats.
Attendees will also be able to meet with the Police Department’s bike patrol, motorcycle officers, K-9 officers and drone team. The Edina Fire Department will also be in attendance along
with the Bloomington Bomb Squad, Hennepin County Joint Community Police Partnership, Minnesota State Patrol, Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office and Water Patrol, Community Outreach for
Psychiatric Emergencies (COPE) and more.
“The Open House allows us to show residents why we are so proud to work for the Edina community,” said Sgt. Anna Eckstein. “We are excited to meet everyone and show them the Police Department,
our new equipment and some of our partnerships with other community groups that help us be successful!”
The south section of the City Hall parking lot will be closed for the Open House’s outdoor activities, but parking will be available at City Hall. Overflow parking will be available
at the Edina Executive Plaza, 5200 Willson Road.
