HomeMy WebLinkAboutLighthouse Night Torchlight ConcertContact: Lauren Siebenaler, Senior Communications Coordinator Phone 952-833-9537 • LSiebenaler@EdinaMN.gov • EdinaMN.gov  FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE  Lighthouse Night and Torchlight Concert Set for Aug. 11  Edina, Minn., Aug. 1, 2024 – The annual Lighthouse Night featuring throwback entertainment from the early 1900s begins at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 11, at Centennial Lakes Park. Visitors to the park, 7499 France Ave. S., will be entertained by a sleight-of-hand magician, Italian organ grinder, mechanical man and a Wurlitzer band organ. They’ll be able to see Model T Fords and penny-farthings – late 19th-century bicycles with giant front wheels. The event includes some throwback prices as well: 25-cent ice cream cones. Throughout the evening, members of the Edina Model Yacht Club will run their remote-controlled boats on the park’s waters. The park will feature torches and special lighting, weather permitting. Fife & Drums perform at 7:45 p.m., leading up to the Torchlight Concert with a performance by the First John Philip Sousa Memorial Band at 8:30 p.m. The night concludes with a fireworks finale accompanying “Stars and Stripes Forever.” Admission to Lighthouse Night and the Torchlight Concert are free, and all ages are welcome.
