Students wanted to help City government
Edina, Minn., Sept. 15, 2005 – Edina Mayor Jim Hovland is accepting applications for
student members of the Park Board, Planning Commission and Transportation Commission.
Student board and commission members participate in discussions by the City Council’s advisory
groups. High school students committed to serving one-year terms to help their community in this
way are encouraged to apply.
Students from the community at large who are juniors and willing to serve through their graduation
are preferred. For most boards and commissions, interested students should be able to commit
one evening each month to meetings.
All of the mayor’s appointments must be approved by the majority of the Edina City Council. To receive
an application or for more information, visit the City’s website, www.CityofEdina.com, or call City Clerk
Debra Mangen, 952-826-0408. Applications must be received by 4:30 p.m. Oct. 7. Appointments will be
made next month.
