FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Community Foundation announces new tree-
planting program
Edina, Minn., Feb. 7, 2005 – The Edina Community Foundation is raising money to plant a large
number of trees in Edina in honor of Arbor Day. Contributions are sought and a lead gift has been
received.
The Conservation League of Edina, working with City and school officials, is now planning where the
new trees will be planted. Preliminary ideas include City parks, street medians, schools, along freeway
entrance and exit ramps, and in small public-owned green spaces with streets on three sides.
Contributions to this project, which are tax deductible, can be made to the Edina Community
Foundation for the Conservation League of Edina Tree Project. No amount is too large or too small to
buy healthy, good-sized trees for Edina’s public spaces.
Please make suggestions for tree placement by sending an e-mail to edina-cl@mn.rr.com. To
volunteer to help plant and water the trees, call 952-400-5832. For more information on the Edina
Community Foundation, call 952-833-9573. For more information about the Conservation League
