City beautifies park in honor of Arbor Day
Edina, Minn., May 5, 2005 – One park is a little greener after the City of Edina and volunteers planted trees on
Arbor Day, Friday, April 29.
City Forrester Tom Horwath, Edina Park and Recreation Director John Keprios, Assistant Park and Recreation
Director Ed MacHolda and Edina Park Board members Michael Damman, Todd Fronek, George Klus,
Karla Sitek and Michael Weiss planted nine trees at Cornelia School Park, 7142 Cornelia Drive,
during the 10 a.m. Arbor Day ceremony. Seven Medora Junipers and two Merrill Magnolias were
planted. The Magnolias are single-stem small trees, reaching a mature height of 30 feet. The Juniper's
mature height is 15 feet.
