Edgwater Eight to sing for a good cause
Edina, Minn., May 9, 2005 – Music reminiscent of days gone by will echo once again when the “Edgewater
Eight” performs for charity in June in Hopkins.
The members of the Edgewater Eight vocal ensemble will perform medleys of old hits at the Eisenhower
Community Center Theater, 1001 Highway 7, at 7 p.m. June 10 to raise money for the Edina Golden K Kiwanis Club
and Edina Senior Center.
The concert, “The Music We Remember,” will include medleys such as “Tribute to the Big Bands,” music from the
Kraft Music Hall and songs such as “Cool Water,” “If I Didn’t Care,” “Moments to Remember” and other melodies
from the 40s and 50s. The band will also include its crowd-pleasing “Sentimental Journey.” Edina resident and
Edgewater Eight member Dominic Castino is the show’s producer, and Ron Seaman will lead accompaniment with
keyboard, saxophone, bass and drums.
In the 1970s and 80s, the Edgewater Eight performed nightly at the Edgewater Inn in Minneapolis. The group
reunited three years ago and has played at the Old Log Theater, Chanhassen Dinner Theater, Sheldon Theatre and
Medina Entertainment Center, among other venues.
Tickets for the June concert at the Eisenhower Community Center Theater can be purchased in advance at the
Edina Senior Center or at the door the night of the show. The cost is $15. Proceeds from the concert will help the
