New Edina police officer sworn in
Edina, Minn., May 11, 2005 – Kenna Dick was sworn in earlier this month as the Edina Police
Department’s newest officer.
Dick, 25, began work as a Police Officer Monday, May 9. City Clerk Debra Mangen administered
the oath to her May 11. Dick was sworn in with Chief of Police Mike Siitari at her side and
surrounded by her fellow officers, family and friends. Siitari proudly presented Dick with her badge,
No. 181. “During the interview process, we were looking for someone with a commitment to service
and outstanding human relations skills,” said Siitari, who described the new officer as his “No. 1
draft pick.” “Kenna Dick comes to us with both. We are very pleased to welcome her into the
department.”
Dick comes to the Edina Police Department with three years experience as a paramedic for Allina
Medical Transportation. She received her law enforcement training at nearby Normandale Community
College and her paramedic training from South Central Technical College in Mankato.
The Edina Police Department is located at 4801 W. 50th St., in the lower level of City Hall.
