5. Community Comment
During "Community Comment," the Board/Commission will invite residents to

Individuals must limit their comments to three minutes. The Chair may limit the
number of speakers on the same issue in the interest of time and topic.
Individuals should not expect the Chair or Board/Commission Members to
respond to their comments tonight. Instead, the Board/Commission might refer
the matter to staff for consideration at a future meeting.

I. Call To Order
Chair Lewis called the meeting to order at 6:01 p.m.
II. Roll Call
Answering roll call: Commissioners Bildsten, Brown, McCarthy, Plumb-Smith, Rubenstein, Wright, Donnelly,
Lewis
Absent: Commissioners Olsen, Rosen
Staff present: Director of Engineering Chad Millner
III. Approval of Meeting Agenda
Motion was made by Commissioner Bildsten and seconded by Commissioner Brown to
approve the agenda. All voted aye. Motion carried.
IV. Approval of Meeting Minutes
Motion was made by Commissioner Brown and seconded by Commissioner Plumb-Smith to
approve the June 20, 2024 meeting minutes. All voted aye. Motion carried.
V. Community Comment
None.
VI. Reports/Recommendations
A. Traffic Safety Report of June 25, 2024
The Commission reviewed and commented on the Traffic Safety Report of June 25, 2024.
B. 2024 Work Plan Updates
• #1 Traffic Safety Infrastructure – Still trying to connect with Bloomington, working to
consolidate research.
• #2 Pedestrian and Bicycle Master Plan Review – Subcommittee biked around the Twin
Loops, looking to schedule next meeting.
• #3 Parking – Meeting with Planning subcommittee next week; Planning is scheduled to come
to next ETC meeting to present draft work.
• #4 20th Anniversary Proclamation – Completed.
C. 2025 Work Plan Development
The Commission began development of their 2025 work plan proposal.

Transportation Commission
The Commission advises the City Council on matters relating to the operation of the Cityʼs local street system.
The Commission also reviews and comments on plans to enhance non-motorized and mass transit
opportunities in the city. In addition, the Commission evaluates methods for tra ic calming and other speed
and volume mitigation measures and recommends their implementation when appropriate.

Residents have been vocal with the Transportation Commission
about how dangerously fast drivers drive on Edinaʼs residential
streets – even a er speed limits were lowered to 25 mph.
