Defensive Driving Course offered at the Edina Senior Center
Edina, Minn., April 16, 2003 – Bob Vandenburg from the Minnesota Safety Council will be instructing
Defensive Driving Refresher courses at the Edina Senior Center, 5280 Grandview Square, this
summer. The three classes will take place on June 5, July 15, and Aug. 12, from 12:15 to 4:15 p.m.
Those who would like to participate need to have completed the National Safety Council’s eight hour
course. In addition, their driver’s license number and date of birth need to be included when registering
for the class. Cost for the class is $19. The Senior Center will continue accepting applications until
classes are filled to the maximum registration, which is 30 people per class.
With 1,500 members and a variety of activities, the Edina Senior Center offers something for everyone
55 and older. Among the recreational activities offered by the Senior Center are cards, creative writing,
exercise, defensive driving, line dancing and whittling. Health-related programs include blood pressure
checks, hearing tests, podiatrist appointments, vaccination clinics and health seminars. For more
