EdinaParks.comFALL 2024 2 Welcome to the Parks & Recreation Activities Directory! This catalog provides an overview of activities from approximately August through November. Complete program information can be found online. We encourage everyone to sign up only for the classes or program they intend to attend. If you’re planning to have your child attend the same session as their friends, please communicate in advance and know which one to sign up for. This keeps slots open for everyone without needing a waitlist. For those who are waitlisted, we make every effort to get people in the class or program. If you’re new to Edina Parks & Recreation programs, please set up your free account in advance of registration at EdinaParks.com/Fun. Scholarships Connect Card Program • Pays for free access or reduced price on activities. • Eligible for Edina youth or those who attend school in Edina. • Card holders are responsible for paying tax on any taxable items. • Apply online at edinacommunityfoundation.org/connect-card or print application and mail. Edina Give and Go Program • Provides grants for Edina Public Schools students to participate in academics, arts and sports. • Apply by visiting EdinaGiveandGo.org; online application form available in multiple languages. • An annual credit can be added to your CivicRec account so you can register on your own; to add credit, call the Parks & Recreation Office at 952-826-0367. On mobile, select “Account” in the upper right corner and click “Sign Up.” • Items stay in cart for only 10 minutes. • At checkout, you will be asked a series of prompts or waivers that you need to check before your transaction is complete. • Waitlists: Preference given to those not currently enrolled in a class/activity. • Cancellations must be made at least 10 business days prior to start of class and will be assessed a 20% administrative fee. No refunds will be given 10 business days prior to the start of an activity. • Partial credit will be considered if cancellation is due to illness or serious injury. Note to Existing Account Holders Customers are now able to log in to their City of Edina Parks & Recreation account with single sign-on. • The benefits of single sign-on include: • Stronger security • Quicker and easier login • Easier password resets If you haven’t logged in since June 5, you will have to create a new password. Borrow a puzzle from our lending library or bring your own. Challenge your team to finish in two hours to prepare for our March puzzle tournament. All skill levels welcome. Open to everyone of all ages. Costumes may be dropped off during Edina Senior Center business hours the week of Sept. 23-27 or brought to the event directly. Sunday, Sept. 29 4-6:30 p.m. Edina Senior Center Free First Saturday Art Lab AGES 2-8 (with accompanying adult) Join us for arty fun 10 a.m. to noon the first Saturday of each month! Staff will be on hand to assist families with a variety of projects designed to help young people explore art concepts and mediums. This program is best for kids ages 2-8 with an accompanying adult. This free program is possible thanks in part to a Youth Activities grant from Hennepin County. First Saturday of Each Month 10 a.m.-noon Edina Art Center Free Night Glow Golf AGES 16+ Tees, flagsticks and holes are illuminated and glow-in-the-dark golf balls are provided. Participants must be 16 years old or accompanied by an adult. Come to our annual Pumpkin Smash & Bash at Countryside Park. Pumpkins brought to the park will be composted through Edina's Organics Recycling program. Visitors may also roll, bowl and squish their squash for some extra-slimy fun. Saturday, Nov. 2 10 a.m.-noon Countryside Park Free HalloBoo Trick-or-Treat Trail AGES 1-8 Join us for a spooktacular alternative to door-to-door trick-or-treating with a HalloBoo Trick-or-Treat Trail. Memberships and daily admission passes are available for the swimming pool, running/walking track and fitness equipment. • Book your child’s fall birthday party! A variety of packages are available online. • Annual memberships are available so you can play all year round. • Friday Family Movie Nights are the second Friday of each month (starting 5:30 p.m. Nov. 8). • Starting in October, the Edinborough Entertainment Series offers performances for all audiences, from children to adults. The Edinboroug Entertainment Calendar will be available in September. • Indoor pickleball courts are available to reserve beginning Oct. 1, including a new pickleball league on Wednesday mornings from November to April.
