City, Edina Magazine Award Photo Contest Winners
Edina, Minn., Nov. 18, 2024 – The City of Edina and Edina Magazine recognized winners of the 20th-annual Images of Edina photo contest at the Nov. 6 City Council meeting.
Photos entered were taken between May 2023 and June 2024 and were entered into one of five categories. Edina Magazine readers voted online to choose the “Readers’ Choice” award. One
overall “Best In Show” winner was chosen. Photos were judged on a variety of elements, including composition, lighting, relevance to each category and degree of difficulty.
“It was another great year of the Images of Edina contest. We had 113 submissions this year, which is our highest count since before the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Graphic Designer Dan
Doar, who coordinates the contest. “The photographers have such passion for the city and they display it so well through their pictures.”
The winners of the 2024 Images of Edina contest are:
Activities & Events – “Dream Big Dreams” by Laura Heinmiller
Business – “Movie Night” by Stephanie Thomas
People – “Wheels” by Stephanie Thomas

“We are so grateful to the team at Edina Magazine for all their work collecting submissions and managing the contest,” said Doar. “Edina is blessed with some incredible photographers
and I’m so grateful for their commitment to this contest the last 20 years. I am excited to see the submissions we will receive in the years to come!”
The contest is free to enter and is open to both amateur and professional photographers who reside, work or attend school in Edina.
