The City of Edina is also providing a free bag of compost made from the City’s curbside organics recycling program. The sale is in partnership with Tree Trust and is part of reaching the City’s Climate Action Plan goal to increase the tree canopy from 36% to 43% by 2040. “This tree sale will help add diversity to our urban canopy. It's a great way for us to get trees back in the neighborhoods and helps maintain that neighborhood character that Edina is known for,” said City Forester Luther Overholt. Another 300 trees will get added to the City’s tree canopy during Arbor Day celebrations. Volunteers will plant trees across Braemar Golf Course starting at 10 a.m. Friday, April 25.
