Suggestions Sought to Improve Wayfinding at 50th & France
Edina, Minn., April 16, 2025 – People who visit the 50th & France business district are asked to provide ideas and suggestions to improve pedestrian wayfinding throughout the district.
While many Edina residents know their way around the area, the 50th & France business district is also visited by people from all over the Twin Cities and far away communities. Some
visitors have difficulty navigating from the parking areas to their destination.
“We want to ensure the visitor experience is enjoyable and seamless. We also want to encourage people to explore all 50th & France has to offer,” said Economic Development Manager Bill
Neuendorf. “What better way to improve the experience than ask the current visitors what they think would be helpful?”
A variety of strategies to improve wayfinding are being considered, including:
Directional signs
New directories and maps
Improved online and mobile tools
Naming pedestrian walkways and plazas
Public art and other placemaking elements
See suggestions already made and share your ideas at EdinaMN.gov/50thWayfinding. Suggestions will be accepted until Wednesday, April 30.
Design consultants at HKGi will use the feedback to prepare strategies for improving wayfinding while retaining the local character and charm of 50th & France.
This initiative is funded with fees collected from Edina’s 50th & France businesses and a grant from Hennepin County. Edina’s Economic Development Division is overseeing the project.
