HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity of Edina Utility Bill Card Payments News FlashCity of Edina Utility Bill Card Payments Will Have 3% Convenience Fee Starting Sept. 1 Edina, Minn., Aug. 13, 2025 – When you pay your City of Edina utility bill with a card, a 3% convenience fee applies as of Sept. 1, 2025. The fee applies to any card payment, whether set up as autopay or made as a one-time payment by phone, in person or through Invoice Cloud, the City’s online billing software for utilities. This includes payments made with a debit card. The City does not make a profit from the convenience fee. The fee has been implemented only to offset the cost the City pays to card payment processors and helps maintain the overall City budget. We understand customers might not want to pay more to use a card. You can avoid the convenience fee by: Paying by check or money order Setting up automatic payments from your bank account using bank pay or ACH (Automated Clearing House) Details on payment options are available online at EdinaMN.gov/UtilityBilling. If you have questions about your utility bill or payment options, please contact Utility Billing at 952-826-0373 or utilbilling@EdinaMN.gov. Staff are available 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The City is gradually implementing convenience fees across departments to help recover the costs associated with accepting card payments. For example, in 2024, Utility Billing processed 24,537 card payments, resulting in approximately $76,963 in fees paid to card processors.
