Nighttime Highway 100 Closures - Vernon Avenue & Highway 100 Interchange ProjectContact: Brittany Bader, Digital Communications Coordinator Phone 952-826-0396 • BBader@EdinaMN.gov • EdinaMN.gov  Nighttime Highway 100 Closures Scheduled Sept. 2-5 Between Highway 62 and Interstate 394 Northbound lanes closed overnight Sept. 2 and Sept. 3; Southbound lanes closed overnight Sept. 4 and Sept. 5   Edina, Minn., Aug. 27, 2025 – Minnesota Highway 100 will close overnight on four nights, Sept. 2-5, between Minnesota Highway 62 and Interstate Highway 394. Northbound lanes will close Sept. 2 and 3, followed by southbound lanes Sept. 4 and 5. The nighttime closures will allow crews to safely lift beams into place for a new bridge on Vernon Avenue over Highway 100 in Edina, part of the Vernon Avenue & Highway 100 Interchange project. Lanes will reopen during daytime hours between closures. Northbound Highway 100 Closures: 10 p.m. Sept. 2 to 5 a.m. Sept. 3 10 p.m. Sept. 3 to 5 a.m. Sept. 4 Southbound Highway 100 Closures: 10 p.m. Sept. 4 to 5 a.m. Sept. 5 10 p.m. Sept. 5 to 5 a.m. Sept. 6 Detour: During the overnight closures, detours for both directions will utilize Highway 62, U.S. Highway 169 and Interstate 394. In addition, suggested local access routes will be in place. Maps for the nighttime Highway 100 closures will be added soon at BetterTogetherEdina.org/vernon-hwy100. The $28.2 million Vernon Avenue & Highway 100 Interchange project is a joint effort between the City of Edina, Hennepin County and the Minnesota Department of Transportation and includes replacing two bridges on Vernon Avenue, one over the Canadian Pacific Kansas City railroad and the second over Highway 100. The project will also improve nearby intersections and eliminate redundant Highway 100 access ramps in favor of a standard tight diamond interchange. The new bridge over Highway 100 will create space for these improvements: 10-foot-wide sidewalks and ADA-compliant pedestrian ramps Pedestrian refuge islands New dual left-turn lanes in both east and west directions New traffic signals with ADA-compliant audible crossings Stay Informed The City of Edina is committed to minimizing disruptions by keeping residents, businesses and the traveling public informed throughout construction.
