FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Edina Police Department Recruiting Police Explorers
Edina, Minn., Sept. 11, 2025 – Learn more about the Police Explorers program by attending an informational meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16 at the South Metro Public Safety Training
Facility, 7525 Braemar Blvd. in Edina.
The Police Explorers program provides young adults ages 14-21 with an opportunity to gain working knowledge of law enforcement through hands-on experience. The program helps young people
make educated decisions about entering a career in law enforcement and challenges them to become responsible citizens of their community.
Edina/Eden Prairie Explorers Post No. 925 meets regularly Tuesday nights from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and participates in various conferences such as the National Explorers Conference every
other year. Weekly meetings cover all aspects of law enforcement, including crime scene processing, burglary response, first aid, search and arrest, white-collar crime, hostage negotiations,
interviewing and interrogation, and more.
Each student should bring a parent or guardian to the meeting. The program is open to all those ages 14-21 with an interest in learning more about careers in law enforcement.
For more information on the Edina/Eden Prairie Explorers program, contact post advisors Officer Bennett Breyer at bbreyer@EdinaMN.gov or Officer Nick Navejas at nnavejas@EdinaMN.gov.
